CIRCULAR NO 9 OF 2022 – END OF TERM 2
ACADEMICS
- Despite the spectre of Covid-19, flooding and water challenges, Umbilo Secondary’s Academic Programme remains on track. We trust that all our learners have done their best in the June Examination.
- Exam results will be handed out in the new term.
- To ensure the manifestation of Academic Excellence our Grade 12 learners will however continue their academic programme during the school holidays. The lessons will continue from Monday, 27 June to Thursday, 30 June from 7:55. All normal school rules and policies apply. Please find the Timetable attached to Circular 8 (Matric Ball).
- Please note: School re-opens on Tuesday, 19 July 2022
- All school rules & policies apply. Late-coming will not be tolerated. School starts at 7:55
TRADING AT SCHOOL
- The selling of sweets/lollipops/illegal substances at school is strictly forbidden. Learners identified will face immediate suspension followed by a Disciplinary Tribunal.
- Parents and Guardians are reminded that they are ultimately responsible for the conduct of their child/ward at school.
STAFFING
- Umbilo Secondary is presently facing a crisis regarding the replacement of Educators by the Department of Education – this means that the following subjects, IsiZulu, English, Afrikaans, and Life Orientation will not be taught until suitable educators are employed.
SCHOOL FEES
- To mitigate the problems regarding staffing, we will have no choice but to employ SGB Educators.
- To do this it is thus imperative that school fees are paid.
- Presently 73% of our parents have as yet not paid school fees.
- To render services and to ensure the payment of Telephone, rolling-off paper, toilet paper, etc. school fees must be paid.
- The school will be open from Monday, 27 June to Thursday. 30 June for payment. All other payments can be paid directly into the school’s Bank Account.
