CIRCULAR NO. 24

1.        AMENDMENT TO THE SCHOOL CODE OF CONDUCT

Please find the amendments to the school code of conduct BELOW. These amendments take into account the changes in technology and society at large. It also serves to protect all stakeholders at the school.

Parents and Guardians are reminded that “discipline” remains the prerogative of the parent/guardian. The school serves to reinforce rules/discipline.

2.        TERM 3

            The term starts on Tuesday, 18 July 2023.

            All school rules apply.

            REMINDER: The school starts at 7:50am sharp – NO LATE-COMING

            Learners who are absent on this day must return with a Doctors certificate.

3.        TERM 2 REPORTS

            Your child/wards report will be handed to parents on their respective “OPEN DAYS”:

            Grade 12:      Saturday, 22 July 2023

            Grade 8 -11: Saturday, 29 July 2023

Parents will have the opportunity to discuss their child/ward’s results with the respective educator.

4.        SCHOOL FEES

The number of parents who have not paid school fees is alarming. Please do the right thing and pay the school fees. Parents who are struggling must see the Principal for advice on a payment plan.

LEARNER’S CODE OF CONDUCT

Amendments to the school code of conduct:

1.        ACADEMIC

CHEATING & COPYING

Any act of cheating in the classroom, homework, test, or examination is prohibited, including:

  • The use of any Artificial Intelligence (AI) e.g ChatGPT, to complete assignments or work.
  • Non-compliance:
    • not completing classwork/homework
    • School refusal – regular absenteeism, exeats without valid reasons or parents consent.
    • Attending class/school with no books.

2.        PEDDLING/SELLING

The peddling/selling of drugs or any other product (e.g. sweets/lollipops etc.) is prohibited.

Added to the rules regarding smoking and use of alcohol and drugs – vaping is strictly forbidden.

CYBER BULLYING

Any type of abuse or intimidation, threats via. Social media is strictly forbidden.

CELLPHONES

The use of cellphones/earphones/smart watches/iPod’s/musical players/tasers on the premises is prohibited.

DRESS CODE

The use of HOODIES has led to criminial behaviour and is thus strictly forbidden
