CIRCULAR NO. 25
1. JUNE / JULY EXAMINATION
After analysing the results of the mid-year exam, it is clear that a “study culture” Is not part of our learner’s lives. Many of our learners have failed to meet minimum pass requirements because they have not studied. It is imperative that parents monitor their child’s/ward’s study habits and inculcate a “study culture” at home.
To achieve academic excellence all stakeholders must maximise the role they play in learners lives.
REMINDER: PARENTS MUST COLLECT REPORTS AT SCHOOL:
Grade 12: Saturday, 22 July 2023 at 12:30pm
Grade 8-11: Saturday, 29 July 2023 at 12:30pm
2. LATE COMING AND ABSENTEEISM
During the exam session, we had no latecomers and those who were absent had legitimate medical reasons. With that in mind, this trend should continue throughout this term. Learners who are late for TWO days in a row will be asked to return to school with a parent. Gates close at 7h50.
4. SCHOOL FEES
Our records show an alarming number of parents who have not paid school fees. For the school to function optimally fees must be paid. Please ensure that your child/ward’s fees are paid. Parents who have not made a payment plan to pay fees must see the Principal urgently.
To recoup outstanding fees, the school has sourced a Debt Collector and this will incur extra penalties, at a cost to parents.
5. CONDOLENCES
The Governing Body, Management, Staff, and Learners would like to convey our sincere condolences to all who have lost loved ones.
- To the family of Leighlynn Marx – our Grade 8 learner, your son left an indelible mark on all who interacted with him – he will be missed.
- The Simmer family on the loss of their dad.
- The Richardson family on the loss of Lorna (Lornay Caterers) – The Wentworth Community has lost a real hero.
6. EARLY DISMISSAL ON FRIDAY 21 JULY AT 13H30 to accommodate both staff and learners attending the Richardson funeral. Please make appropriate travel arrangements.
